Hey there,
One of the best parts of building The Adventure Challenge is that people trust us with some of the most personal moments of their lives.
Every week we receive emails from people telling us what happened after they scratched off a challenge. Sometimes they’re funny. Sometimes they’re completely unexpected. And sometimes they’re the kind of stories that stop our team in the middle of the workday and get passed around the office because everyone needs to read them.
We have pages and pages of these stories.
The truth is, we don’t share enough of them.
With the launch of Couples Luxe, I wanted to start.
The story below comes from a couple who has spent years adventuring together with The Adventure Challenge. When we began creating Couples Luxe, it was couples like them we couldn’t stop thinking about.
To protect their privacy, I’ve changed their names, but everything else about this story is true.
So let me tell you about them…
A while back, we heard from a couple named Lily and Carl. They met in 2021, when the world was still figuring out how to be together again. Like a lot of couples, they settled into comfortable routines. They cooked dinner, played board games, bundled up for winter walks, and tried to make the most of a season that felt pretty small.
Then, one Christmas, someone gave them a Couples Edition Adventure Challenge. Neither of them knew it then, but that simple gift would become part of the rhythm of their relationship.
It quickly became part of how they dated. Whenever life started feeling a little too predictable, they’d scratch off another challenge. Some made them laugh, some pushed them outside their comfort zones, and some simply gave them an excuse to spend intentional time together.
A few years later, Carl placed the book on the kitchen table and asked Lily to scratch off one more adventure.
The challenge invited them to revisit places that had become meaningful throughout their relationship, so they spent the day driving from one memory to the next. Their first date. A favorite restaurant. Little places that had quietly become part of their story. Their final stop was a park they both loved.
That’s where Carl asked Lily to marry him.
When Lily wrote to us afterward, she said something that’s stayed with me ever since:
“It’s such a big part of our story.”
I love that she didn’t say it was the proposal. She wasn’t talking about one moment. She was talking about years of intentional moments that had become part of who they are as a couple.
Stories like this remind me why we started The Adventure Challenge in the first place. Our mission has always been simple: to inspire human connection.
My hope is that Couples Luxe becomes more than a book on your shelf. I hope that years from now, you’ll pull it down, flip through its pages, and remember not just the adventures, but who you were together when you lived them.
If we get to become even a small part of your story, I would be so honored.
If you're ready to start yours, you can find it here.
