Premium Battered Scampi is back in the summer sale — £16.00 instead of £17.80, made by a single craftsman in Northern Ireland who still batters whole scampi tails rather than reformed offcuts. Most versions on supermarket shelves are mostly batter; this one's 60% scampi meat, which is why the bag looks lighter for the price and tastes heavier in the pan.
In the bag:
Small bag (250g, ~12 pieces) — serves two main meals
Large bag (~45 pieces, individually frozen so you can take out a portion at a time)
Oven bake 14–16 minutes from frozen, no thawing required
It costs more than the bags of reformed scampi bits at the supermarket, because there's simply more actual scampi in it. Fair trade, we think.
We've sent over 5 million seafood meals to UK homes since we started — this is one of the ones people reorder without thinking twice about it.
(No need to defrost. The scampi, unlike you on a Monday, is ready to go straight in.)
