While you're reading this, our very own Joshua Dieker is somewhere in the Flint Hills of Kansas, conquering his way through 356 miles of remote gravel at one of the most demanding events in cycling.
UNBOUND Gravel XL. Self-supported. Overnight. 356.7 miles. 14,770 feet of climbing. No support crew. Just Josh, his Trek Checkpoint, and whatever Kansas decides to throw at him.
His goal: finish in 27 hours. That's 13.2 mph average across the full route—including stops, resupplies, mechanicals, and the inevitable moments of staring into the void somewhere around mile 200. Pretty casual weekend.
