Throughout the summer months, fishing on stillwaters can become a tad difficult as we have longer warm spells and little rain resulting in low, clear and picky trout!
It’s worth mentioning that during hot spells it is important to put the fish welfare first. If you’re fishing be sure to keep any fish caught in the water, rest them properly before releasing too! check the water temperatures aren’t going above 20 degrees which puts them at great danger!
One fly we’re never without in the summer for lake fishing is a range of shuttlecock buzzers. If you find yourself in a buzzer hatch these are a must have fly!
