America is turning 250 years old this summer. It is hard to think of a better moment to return to the book that shaped this country's moral imagination from the very beginning.
This June, Israel365 is doing something we have never done before. We are spending an entire month going through all 24 books of the Hebrew Bible — the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings — one book at a time, in conversation with Jewish and Christian thought leaders who have devoted their lives to the text. The goal is simple: to open the Book and show why every part of it matters, right now, for people living in our generation.
Biblical literacy is declining across America. Fewer people are engaging with Scripture seriously. Fewer young Christians and Jews can find their footing in the biblical story. We believe that matters — not just religiously, but culturally and historically. The Bible is not decorative. It is the foundation. And foundations require tending.

On June 14, Israel365 is hosting Open the Book: A National Conversation on Biblical Literacy — a free live online event bringing Jewish and Christian leaders together to address the biblical literacy crisis directly.
What is lost when communities lose the Bible? What can Jews and Christians do together to rebuild? Speakers include Rabbi Tuly Weisz, Rabbi Pesach Wolicki, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, and others.
