The 12-inch handheld temple gong is here.

You now have a smaller bronze gong that you can hold in one hand, play with the other, and carry through a room without needing a stand.

A temple gong is a flat, hand-hammered bronze plate. Because it has no rim, the sound moves outward immediately. The response is fast, open, and easy to control during close work, travel, and sessions where you want the sound to move with you.

This one is 12 inches across, handcrafted in Nepal, and made to Ohm Store specifications.

HOW IT SOUNDS

The first impression is brightness. The upper frequencies then settle into a clean sustain.

A soft strike gives you a delicate, focused tone with fine upper-frequency texture. A stronger strike opens the plate into a full wash that carries beyond what its 12-inch diameter suggests.

New instruments like this also benefit from regular playing. Over the first several weeks, the plate continues to settle and the gong opens further.

HAND-FINISHED DETAILS

The face is engraved with a central Sri Yantra mandala surrounded by concentric bands of mantra script and traditional scrollwork.

Each gong is finished by hand, so the linework and patina carry small variations that belong to the individual piece.

It is a compact gong with a real room-filling response.
