The gong collection is now here.
You now have three kinds of gongs in the collection: the remaining large-format Chau and Wind gongs, the 12 inch handheld temple gong, and the one-of-one 27 inch Nepali temple gongs.
We have worked for two years to make the best representation we can of our favored bell metal bronze gongs. These are built around the same physical reason our bronze bowls matter: the metal, the hammering, the mass asymmetry, and the dense modal behavior that makes the ear keep listening.

The kinds in this release
Start here.
The Chau gives you the slower bloom and the heavier low-mid body. The Wind gives you the faster opening and the broad shimmer. The Nepali temple gongs give you individual iconography, individual tuning behavior, and the exact-instrument purchase that makes this collection worth studying before you choose.

One-of-one Nepali temple gongs
Each 27 inch gong is its own instrument.
These are hand-hammered in the Kathmandu Valley by bronze craftsmen specialists. Each gong is 27 inches across, patinated dark, gilded by hand, and finished with its own iconography. Each one also has its own frequency center and overtone behavior. You are buying the exact gong you hear on that product page.

The sound has to make the decision.
A gong at this level is a physical object first. Bronze thickness, hammering, rim geometry, surface tension, and the way the plate releases sound determine what you hear. Open the collection, listen to the samples, and choose the instrument whose behavior makes sense in your room and your work.
