Hackman Capital Partners, which purchased the creative office campus at 9050 Washington Boulevard with partner Affinius Capital in 2021 for around $160 million, defaulted on its debt earlier this year.

In a statement to The Real Deal, a Hackman representative said: “Ultimately, we determined that putting additional capital into the asset was not in the best interest of our investment.”

Meanwhile, a Culver City City Council agenda in June listed a closed-session meeting centered on negotiations between City Manager Odis Jones and Michael Hackman over the former Sony campus at 9050 Washington Boulevard.
