New Buildings

🏆 The largest new construction project to receive permits last week was in West Hills, where plans were filed to build a 278,650-square-foot apartment building at 7556 North Woodlake Avenue. An entity called 7556 Woodlake, LP is behind the project which is sponsored by Elysian Housing and Capstone Equities. The six-story project which will feature 160 affordable housing units is expected to cost $46.5 million to build.

📊 Permits were issued for a nearly 33,000-square-foot apartment complex at 1010 Myra Avenue in Silver Lake. The project, valued at $6.9 million, will house 34 units and include partially subterranean parking. Quadrant Inc. is the contractor for the development.

📊 In West Adams, permits were secured for a two-story, 11,110-square-foot clinic at 2617 Crenshaw Boulevard. Spearheaded by the Saban Community Clinic, the facility will provide primary care, dental and behavioral health services. Its estimated cost is $8.5 million.

Alterations

🏆 Downtown Los Angeles had the priciest alteration application to receive permits last week at 110 East 9th Street. The $1.4 million alteration effort spans about 13,900 square feet of work. The project involves new tenant improvements for a Haworth Furniture mercantile showroom.

Demolitions

🏆 The largest demolition permit last week was in Bel Air, where plans were filed to knock down a 7,500-square-foot single-family home, guest house and tennis court at 750 Lausanne Road. The home, which sits on 3.5-acres, sold just over a year ago for $32 million. It’s unclear what is planned for the lot following the demolition.

📊 Permits were issued for the demolition of two one-story quadruplexes — each about 2,400 square feet — and attached garages at 5151-5153 Denny Avenue and 5150-5152 Riverton Avenue in North Hollywood. HVN Development is planning a new five-story building with 80 affordable housing units at the site.
