New Buildings

🌮 Beloved Texas grocer H-E-B submitted the most expensive new construction project of the week for a bakery production facility at 711 South Foster Road in San Antonio. Construction of the 356,000-square-foot building is expected to last from July 2026 to September 2028 and cost $125 million.

🏡 Dallas-based developer JLB Partners filed plans to spend $60 million on a new 40,000-square-foot leasing center for Autumn Leaves, an assisted living facility at 1010 Emerald Isle Drive in Dallas. Work is scheduled to start November 2026 and end November 2027.

🛍 Mehrdad Moayedi's Centurion American is moving forward with plans to redevelop the former Collin Creek Mall at 811 North Central Expressway in Plano into a mixed-use development. The company filed plans to spend $50 million on mechanical, electrical and plumbing construction, core and shell spaces for tenants, elevators, apartments, a pool, a fitness center, an amenity deck and a loading dock. This phase of the project, scheduled to wrap up in July 2027, covers 230,000 square feet.

Renovations

🤖 QTS, an Overland Park, Kansas-based data center operator, filed plans to expand its two-story, 148,000-square-foot data center at 14100 Park Vista Boulevard in Fort Worth. The project is expected to cost $300 million, and work is scheduled to take place between July 2026 and October 2027.

🚋 The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Austin’s public transport agency, plans to build a new passenger waiting area and change a single track to a double track at the Plaza Saltillo Station at 1501 East Fifth Street. Work is scheduled to start this month and end by June 2028, and the estimated cost of the project is $40.6 million.

🔌 Walmart is in the process of installing electric vehicle charging stations in store parking lots in Houston and San Antonio. The company plans to add the stations to 740,000 square feet of space by October 2027. The estimated cost of the project is $29.6 million.
