the "search the chords" routine

Gordon described his old guitar routine with three words:

“Search the chords.”

Hear a song he liked.

Look up the chords.

Play around with it.

Then do the same thing with another song.

Here's how Gordon described what happened:

"I was stuck, for years actually, wanting to add to my skills but unable to find the way."

I think a lot of guitar players know exactly what he means.

You can play guitar this way for years without ever feeling like you're adding new skills.
