Back in 2013, Stephanie was unfit, unhappy, and taking regular smoke breaks at work. A Celiac diagnosis was the final straw, forcing her to ditch the bad habits and stop waiting for motivation to magically appear. Her first Tough Mudder was supposed to be a one-off goal, but conquering Funky Monkey unlocked a version of herself that direct-debited a gym membership and never looked back. 26 course finishes later, including two 24-hour World’s Toughest Mudder events, she runs up to 35 miles a week and spends her spare time on flying trapeze rigs.

The course did not change her life. She did the heavy lifting herself, but the mud gave her a place to prove what she could actually handle.
