Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures rise as AI trade takes
center stage
US stock futures moved higher on Tuesday as enthusiasm
around artificial intelligence continued to support
technology shares.
S&P 500 futures gained 0.4%, while Nasdaq 100 futures
rose 0.7%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added
0.2%.
Chip stocks were set to extend gains for a second
consecutive session. Micron Technology climbed nearly 4%
in premarket trading, while Nvidia and Broadcom also
moved higher.
The rally highlighted continued investor confidence in
AI-related companies despite concerns that persistent
inflation could lead the Federal Reserve to consider
another interest-rate hike later this year.

💽 Why is Micron stock gaining Tuesday?
Micron Technology shares rose in Tuesday's premarket
session as investors returned to semiconductor stocks
amid improving market sentiment and a broader rebound
across technology names.
Nasdaq futures gained 0.70%, while S&P 500 futures
advanced 0.44%.
The semiconductor sector also strengthened, with the
iShares Semiconductor ETF rising about 2% after posting
a roughly 6% gain in the previous session.
The broader recovery in chip stocks helped lift Micron
shares as investors renewed their focus on AI-related
and semiconductor companies.

🏦 Treasury market is telling Kevin Warsh rates need
to be higher
The $31 trillion U.S. Treasury market is signaling that
interest rates may need to move higher, with traders
increasingly pricing in another Federal Reserve rate
hike.
Yields on policy-sensitive two-year Treasury notes have
climbed to their highest level in more than a year
following a series of stronger-than-expected economic
reports.
At around 4.15%, the two-year Treasury yield is trading
above the Federal Reserve's current policy range of 3.5%
to 3.75%, a gap that has persisted since March.
The move reflects growing market expectations that the
Fed could deliver at least one quarter-point rate
increase as soon as October.

💊 Weight-loss drug developers line up to tap
lucrative market as competition heats up
The weight-loss drug market continues to attract intense
competition as biotech and pharmaceutical companies seek
to challenge industry leaders Novo Nordisk and Eli
Lilly.
Analysts expect the global weight-loss drug sector to
generate approximately $150 billion in annual sales over
the next decade.
The market is increasingly shifting toward oral
treatments, with Eli Lilly becoming the second company
to receive approval for a weight-loss pill in April.
The growing demand for obesity treatments and the
convenience of pill-based therapies are driving
investment and innovation across the industry. Yahoo

Caution Flags Are Rising — And SpaceX Mania Is One
of Them
|
with Richie Naso, a
Wall Street veteran of over 40 years and former member
of the NYSE.
|
Last week delivered a sharp reality check for the bulls.
The S&P 500 suffered its worst single day since October,
snapping a nine-week winning streak, while the Nasdaq
dropped nearly 5% as rising Treasury yields hammered
growth stocks.
The trigger was a stronger-than-expected jobs report —
good news for the economy, bad news for stocks. The
familiar equation played out fast: strong jobs pushed
yields higher, reduced expectations for Fed rate cuts,
and sent investors rushing for the exits in tech and
small caps.
What concerns me beyond the headline numbers is Citi's
Bear Market Checklist, now at its highest level since
the 2008 financial crisis, with the US market showing
11.5 out of 18 warning flags. Not a sell signal on its
own, but not something I am comfortable ignoring.
On the opportunity side, gold mining stocks have pulled
back hard — the VanEck Gold Miners ETF is down 24% from
its February high — and with buyers consistently
stepping in around $4,500 per ounce and J.P. Morgan
forecasting gold at $5,245 by 2027, the miners are worth
a serious look for those with conviction.
This week, the SpaceX IPO dominates the calendar,
expected to price at around $135 per share at a roughly
$1.8 trillion valuation. SpaceX is a world-class
company, but the speculative enthusiasm spilling into
lower-quality space-related names concerns me far more
than the IPO itself. When narrative starts outpacing
fundamentals, history suggests it is time to get more
selective and more defensive. I am proceeding with
extreme caution this week. Past performance is not
indicative of future results.
