S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow futures rise as US and Iran call
a halt to attacks
US stock futures climbed on Monday following reports
that the US and Iran have agreed to stop tit-for-tat
attacks that broke out over the weekend, enabling peace
talks to continue.
Nasdaq 100 futures rose 1.2%, while those on the S&P 500
moved up 0.8%, after both indexes closed out last week
with sharp losses.
Contracts on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which is
less exposed to tech names, put on roughly 0.4%.
Markets headed into a holiday-shortened week on edge
after the US launched strikes on Iranian military
targets over the weekend, which escalated tensions in
the Middle East and renewed concerns over a hit to
global energy supplies.
The strikes came after Washington said Tehran carried
out attacks along the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump later warned of further military
action, writing on Truth Social that the US may
"militarily complete the job that we very successfully
started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran
will no longer exist!"

around $65 billion.

$135.11 cash offer.

🍎 Apple shares hold steady as buyback talk meets AI
chip strain
Apple Inc. starts Monday trading facing another hurdle
for investors—seeing if its buyback will still help
earnings per share as memory costs shift from a supply
side problem to one coming out of Washington.
Volume tells the story this time. Apple traded at five
times its 65-day average turnover on Friday, though the
shares had already bounced off a $274.21 low.
The stock is still down 4.45% for the week and 7.36% in
a month.
The recovery hasn’t undone that earlier drop.

The Headline Isn't Your Edge. Your Process Is.
After 30 years in markets I've watched traders blow up
the same way over and over: a fast move hits, the brain
goes into emergency mode, and suddenly they're chasing a
story instead of executing a plan. Here's what I've
learned.
Fast moves feel bigger than they are because you're
living through them candle by candle — pull up the daily
chart later and it's just another down day.
The word "why" is usually noise unless it directly
changes your entry, stop, or size. And the most
expensive word in trading is "should" — it's either a
prediction dressed up as analysis or self-judgment
dressed up as a lesson, and either way it pulls you off
your process.
What actually works is replacing all of it with if-then
thinking: if price closes back above this level and
holds, then I take the long with this stop and this
target.
Make your stops hard to reach by anchoring them to real
structure, make your targets easy to reach so you build
consistency, and when a retest hits after a breakout,
manage it with rules, not panic. A theme can build you a
watchlist. Only a process builds you a trade.
