If you've seen an ”AllocationFailed” error in Azure recently, there's a good chance your first instinct was to request a quota increase. Microsoft approves it. You go back to provision. Same error.

This has become a pattern across Microsoft's East US and UK South regions in particular, and Microsoft's own forecasts show that demand has outpaced supply for quite some time. While signing a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) may prioritize availability, we’ve found a few approaches that don’t require locking yourself into a multi-year commitment.
