I’m writing to update you on how UNICEF, thanks to supporters like you, is responding to the needs of children impacted by Ukraine’s war.

Since the war in Ukraine began, generous UNICEF supporters like you have helped people inside Ukraine by:

Distributing critical health care to more than 1.5 million children and women
Ensuring access to safe water for nearly 1.3 million people
Delivering learning interventions and supplies to 277,610 children
Delivering critical midwifery, obstetrics, surgical, medical and first aid kits for distribution to health care facilities and shelters
Bringing mental health and psychosocial support to more than 334,000 children and caregivers

Iryna and her two daughters arrived in Romania after leaving their home and possessions behind in Ukraine.

“The biggest challenge was ... for me to leave my home and for them (Iryna's children), they were scared.” - Iryna

There is no end in sight to this horrific crisis. Recent reports have confirmed, on average more than two children are killed and more than four children are injured each day in Ukraine, mostly in attacks.
