Less than a week ago, two deadly earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing widespread destruction across the capital, Caracas, and surrounding towns. An estimated 6.7 million people have been affected by the earthquakes, and many have since faced the terror of more than 430 aftershocks. Even before the earthquakes, millions of families were already struggling to access food, clean water, and basic healthcare. For these families already living on the edge, this disaster has made life far more devastating.

Hospitals are severely damaged, disrupting healthcare for children and pregnant women. Thousands of children lack access to safe water. UNICEF is on the ground providing essential health, nutrition, safe water, and protection for children separated from their families and prioritising their reunification, thanks to our supporters.

In Gaza, over 1 million children need humanitarian assistance. In Sudan, 3.6 million children under five face acute malnutrition, with famine confirmed in Darfur and South Kordofan. In Ukraine, children endure constant attacks and mounting mental health strain, with casualties up 20 per cent year on year.
