Hi ,
Some coffees become part of your routine. Others become part of your history.
Maraba, Rwanda was the first specialty coffee we sourced from Rwanda back in 2002, and the first co-operative Union partnered with directly.
At the time, Rwanda’s coffee industry was rebuilding. Following the genocide in 1994, projects across the country began investing in high-quality coffee production as a way to restore livelihoods and strengthen communities.
We became the first coffee company in the world to source specialty coffee from Rwanda.
Set among Rwanda’s rolling hills at 1,700 masl, the co-operative began with around 300 members. Today, it has grown to more than 1,500 farmers, with stronger infrastructure, greater economic stability and a thriving local community shaped through coffee.
Over the years, we’ve worked together to fund processing facilities, support quality training and help farmers earn more for their crop.
But what has always stayed consistent is the coffee itself.
