It was our very first dress, and to me, it still embodies everything Universal Standard set out to be: simple yet refined, elegant yet laid-back, and beautifully made in every size.
The fabric is wonderfully soft; the kind you notice the moment it touches your skin. Add heels and a gold cuff, and the Geneva is ready for dinner. Wear it with sneakers and a denim jacket, and it’s perfect for Saturday afternoon. It never asks you to change who you are. It simply meets you there.
But that isn’t the real reason I recommend it.
I recommend the Geneva because I’ve watched person after person put it on, look in the mirror, and simply beam. There’s a little moment when they see themselves; not the size, not the fit struggle, just themselves. Eleven years later, that moment still gets me every time.
