This Card Reads Their Mind

You begin by removing a Magic Eight Ball card and a blank business card, placing them on the table. Your participant can write down any object on the business card before it is put away out of sight. You explain that, no matter what question you ask, the Eight Ball card always knows the answer. To demonstrate, you have them ask a yes-or-no question to the card about their object. They flip over the Eight Ball Card to check, and the card gets it correct. 

You repeat this two more times, under fairer conditions, but still, the card is correct every time. As a final phase, you put the card aside and have them imagine their object. Despite it never being said out loud, and only yes or no questions being asked, you can tell them exactly what they’re thinking of.
