Home to some of the hottest and most humid places on the planet, the equator carves through dense tropical jungles, warm seas, and crowded cities. Instead of seasons or temperature changes, you’re more likely to be hit by a wall of heat, sun, rain and humidity.
So we started by designing our ultra-lightweight Equator Shirts. They were built to keep you comfortable in all 40,000km of one of the most extreme environments we currently inhabit, and one that’s set to grow.
Thanks to lots of you writing to us, we know the shirts have been worn everywhere from Death Valley California and the Australian Outback to the deserts of Oman. So over the last 2 years we’ve launched four editions, and you can see them all here.
But with the world getting hotter, a lot of you have been asking us for more Equator gear to go with them.
So tomorrow, on Wednesday April 13, at 9am in California, midday in New York, 5pm in London, and 6pm in Berlin, we’ll be giving you advance access to our Equator Shorts, 48 hours ahead of the rest of the world. You can join the waiting list here for the Navy edition and Grey edition. And we’ll be following it up with more Equator gear over the next couple of months.
To build a pair of shorts that can work in all 40,000km we start with one of the lightest and softest fabrics on the planet – it’s exactly the same rare, silk-like cotton from the Nile Delta that we use to make the Equator Shirt. Karnak Menoufi is a silk-like cotton that’s only found in the Nile Delta, and only grows in the years when the rain, soil and wind conditions are perfect.
The Equator Shorts are highly breathable, UV resistant, they dry fast after downpours, and they’re engineered with an advanced ventilation system built with 332 laser-cut vents to keep you comfortable even in the most extreme heat.
Both the Grey edition and Navy edition of the Equator Shorts will come in 6 sizes, from XS to XXL, with free worldwide shipping, and free returns and exchanges. And as always, if you’re new to our gear you can get in touch with us here first and we’ll help you choose the right size first time.
