Hi -,
Last week, we kicked off something we've wanted to do for years. Four Mom's Off Duty events in four cities. Old friends, new faces, a lot of laughing. The kind of room that makes you exhale and remember you're not alone in this.
We've been sitting with this month's theme for a while now — Off Duty: Sit With Us — and honestly, it felt more needed than ever. The internet is loud, polarizing, and often unkind. It can be hard to know where to look for something that doesn't leave you more depleted than when you started.
So we decided to build it. In person, together. The words guiding us this month: relief, connection, joy, permission.
What I keep coming back to is this: you can care deeply about your family and about what's happening in the world and make sure you're filling your own cup. These are not in conflict.
Rest is not quitting. Play is not selfish. Lightness, sometimes, really is the medicine. And to make space for it more often, we need to build infrastructure. A village. A plan. A fridge that's already handled. The nourishment running quietly in the background so you can actually show up — for yourself, for the people you love, for the long game.
That's what Chiyo is here to be.
We're just getting started with this month's events. Our NYC event this week is sold out (you can still join the waitlist!) — but there are still spots open in Boston and Seattle. If you know someone who needs a room full of real humans and zero judgment, send this their way.
