Have you been watching Race Across the World? We’re completely hooked -
especially seeing some of our favourite destinations brought to life. As
the teams race from Italy to Mongolia via
Turkey,
Georgia,
Uzbekistan and
Kyrgyzstan, it’s a stunning showcase of the legendary Silk
Road.
This week, the race reaches
Mongolia - a vast land of endless steppe, dramatic mountains and
nomadic traditions that have endured for centuries. From remote western
towns where Kazakh eagle hunters still preserve ancient customs, to the
wide-open landscapes that seem to stretch forever, Mongolia feels unlike
anywhere else on earth.
The route eventually leads to Kharkhorin, once the capital of Genghis
Khan’s mighty empire. Today, the peaceful Orkhon Valley is home to
Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist monastery, where
history, spirituality and sweeping scenery come together in unforgettable
fashion.
If the race has sparked your own sense of adventure, we have a tour that lets
you experience it all on a deeper, more unforgettable level…
