Château Mouton Rothschild produced an extraordinary and historically significant wine in 2025. The Grand Vin features 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, making it the highest ever percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the final blend in the history of the estate.
The growing season was defined by a significant summer drought that kept the vineyard in pristine health, resulting in small, deeply concentrated berries. Perfectly timed rains in late August arrived at the ideal moment to aid phenolic maturity, allowing the winemaking team to select just 52% of the harvest for the final Grand Vin.
The result is a "glamorous" wine that balances powerful density with a vibrant, weightless character. It opens with an opulent, mesmerizing bouquet of crème de cassis, sun-drenched blackberries, cigar wrapper, espresso, and graphite. On the palate, its flamboyant personality delivers deep concentration and a fleshy texture, framed by ultra-fine, velvety tannins that pave the way for a seamless, seemingly endless finish.
