Among the classic elegance of Pessac-Léognan, Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion has carved out its own unique niche. Dating back to 1584, when Jean de Pontac donated these lands to the Carmelite Order, this walled estate has enjoyed an almost miraculous continuity across centuries, preserving the spirit and magic of its unique terroir.
Today, under the ownership of Patrice Pichet, the estate continues to challenge traditional conventions. The signature style of Les Carmes Haut-Brion relies on proportions of Cabernet Franc to offer a silky power, beautifully supported by the intensity of Cabernet Sauvignon and the rounded fruitiness of Merlot.
The newly released 2025 vintage has already emerged as a potential 100-point legend, standing in direct competition with the greatest vintages the estate has ever produced. The property's unique terroir effortlessly managed the season's hydric stress, allowing the fruit to reach maturity. Notably, the 2025 features 54% Cabernet Franc and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, marking the highest total percentage of Cabernet ever included in the final blend. Made with 65% whole-cluster fermentation and aged in a precise combination of 70% new French oak, 19% large foudres, and 11% clay amphorae, this vintage is a tour de force. It strikes a rare, extraordinary balance between structural density and weightless grace, an essential addition to any serious collector's cellar.
