Why Did We Make This?
We like bikes and parts that are uncluttered, clean, and timeless. This is why we don’t put a bunch of words on our frames, just “Wilde” on the downtube, and when we make parts, the graphic design goal is for them to blend into the whole bike seamlessly. A good part will stand out without shouting. The cream always rises.
The headset checklist in order of importance:
1. Will last ostensibly forever
2. Minimally branded
3. Reasonably priced
We already addressed these needs with 1” threaded headsets, and now we’ve once more buddied up with Cane Creek to tackle 1 ⅛” threadless ones. This is the size we use in the Ramblers, current Supertramp, Spelljammer, Moto Cruiser, etc.
I think the new Wilde edition 110 ZN Threadless Headset checks all the boxes. You get their 110 Classic cups, terrific ZN bearings, minimal branding, and at what we think is an absolutely terrific price.
We hope you like them as much as we do.
