Dear future Windstar traveler,

I have been lucky enough to sail to a lot of beautiful places. Ask me to pick one, and I never hesitate. Tahiti.

I just got back from our President's Cruise in Tahiti, and it reminded me why I have been many times, and I still leave already planning my way back. This time I even added a first: the Cook Islands.

One highlight was our Feast & Fire Destination Discovery Event in Bora Bora. I know this evening by heart, and sharing it with guests still gets me every time. A private motu, a feast, music, fire dancers, all complimentary for Windstar guests. And just when you decide Bora Bora cannot possibly look any better, the sun drops behind the Pacific and proves you wrong.

But the real magic was the guests. Long dinners, deck chats, conversations ashore about what they were loving, what surprised them, where they wanted to go next. I always sail home with a few new ideas of my own.

The timing feels right too. This September we begin celebrating 40 years of Windstar sailing in Tahiti. Four decades is a long relationship, and this is one I am especially happy to celebrate. We know these islands, and I think it shows in the way we sail them.

In 2027, you will have two very different ways to see Tahiti with us. Wind Star, our 148-guest sailing yacht, joins Star Breeze year-round on our Dreams of Tahiti itinerary. If you have one week, that is my pick. There is something about Tahiti with the sails up overhead. If you have more time, Star Breeze runs longer, reaching past the main Society Islands to the Tuamotus and Marquesas, and even the Cook Islands.

And before 2027 arrives, we have another yacht to welcome. Star Explorer debuts December 28, and there is still space on her maiden voyage. I keep thinking about the Horizon Owner's Suite, with its wraparound deck and two bathrooms, and the new Infinity Suites, where the window lowers to let the sea breeze right in. I may have to conduct a little firsthand research.
