Dear future Windstar traveler,

There are some dates you circle on the calendar, and September 19 is circled on mine!

That's when we're 100 days out from Star Explorer's maiden voyage on December 28. A new yacht always brings a little extra energy around Windstar. New spaces to explore. New crew members finding their rhythm. And, of course, the first guests stepping aboard and making the ship their own.

Star Explorer is heading into the Mediterranean, but we're approaching the region a little differently. Rather than simply chasing the big-name ports, we're spending more time getting local. Smaller harbors. Longer stays. More opportunities to wander a little farther from the obvious path. The Mediterranean has a different personality in winter, too. The pace slows down, the light changes, and you can experience places like a local rather than a visitor passing through for the afternoon.

We're also bringing our Destination Discovery Events to many Star Explorer voyages. These are the kinds of experiences that get you off the yacht and into the place you're visiting, whether that's sharing a meal, meeting someone who calls the destination home, or seeing a side of a city most travelers never get to.

And then there's the yacht itself. Star Explorer is Star Seeker's sister yacht, with the same intimate scale and thoughtful spaces Windstar guests know, including our Premier Veranda Suites. I have a feeling the hardest part for some guests will be deciding whether to spend the day exploring ashore or enjoying the view from the balcony. It's a good problem to have.

With the holidays around the corner, we’re reminded that the best gifts aren’t always found beneath the tree. Sometimes, they’re found in the time we make for one another—the stories shared over a long dinner, the laughter that carries late into the evening, and the memories made when the whole family is together.

This holiday season, let us bring everyone together. Give your family the gift of time, connection, and an experience you’ll be talking about long after the holidays are over.
