Blood Oath is the annual limited release series created by Lux Row Distillers Master Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe, who launched the brand in 2015 as a personal exploration of rare and distinctive bourbon blends. Each release, known as a Pact, is built from a secret combination of Kentucky straight bourbons selected and blended by Rempe alone, then bottled once and never repeated. Presented in a fire-branded wooden box and hand-labeled with details of its creation, every Pact has become a highly anticipated chapter in the Blood Oath story.
Blood Oath Pact No. 12 continues that tradition with a blend of 9-year and 12-year ryed bourbons joined by a 7-year ryed bourbon finished first in Montepulciano wine casks and then in Sangiovese casks from Italy. Inspired by the interplay between mature bourbon and two renowned Italian red wine styles, the finishing process brings layers of dark cherry, cocoa, baking spice, leather, and red fruit to the whiskey's rich foundation.
