Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is one of Napa Valley’s most iconic wineries, known for crafting elegant, age-worthy wines with depth, balance, and a distinct sense of place. The winery rose to international fame after its 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon won the red wine category of the 1976 Judgment of Paris, helping prove that California wines could compete with the best in the world. While its Cabernet Sauvignon remains the benchmark, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars also produces refined Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs that show a polished, versatile food-friendly style.
The KARIA Chardonnay, derived from a Greek word meaning “graceful”, from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, shows a polished, graceful side of Napa Valley Chardonnay, combining bright freshness with a smooth, refined texture. Sourced from cooler vineyard areas in southern Napa Valley, it highlights lively citrus and orchard fruit notes alongside hints of melon, floral tones, vanilla, and gentle oak spice. It's time aging on the lees in French oak adds depth and creaminess without overpowering the wine’s crisp character. The result is a balanced, elegant Chardonnay that feels both refreshing and rich, making it a versatile choice for pairing with food or enjoying on its own.
