What makes your classes or teaching approach unique? My classes flow with breath and teachings woven in to evoke a heart quality that lands in your body, heart, and mind.
How would you describe your teaching style? My classes are rooted in a balance of alignment and flow with themes that land in the body to evoke certain qualities of balancing strength with fluidity.
What first drew you to yoga? I was drawn first to Ashtanga yoga as an athlete and a mystical seeker.
What do students often share after practicing with you? They feel met in the heart and body. Here are a few recent quotes from students:
"Jeanie is a beautiful wisdom teacher of yoga, yoga philosophy, and meditation. She embodies the Divine Feminine and inspires awakening in all of her students."
"Jeanie is a gem and one of the rare few who preserves the lineage of depth teachings. I continue to find sacred medicine and transformation in her powerful words and guidance in all of her classes."
"I highly recommend receiving from Jeanie the incredible teachings she brings to the world."
What does a meaningful yoga practice look like to you? A meaningful practice for me can depend on the season and time of year, time of day, and will always be a balance of flow, heating, and cooling postures that prepare the body and mind for meditation and for moving into life, relationships, and activity more centered, clear, and peaceful.
What's one thing you wish more students understood about practice? I wish students understood the power of yoga asana is to prepare you to go within yourself, to confront our shadowy parts so that we show up more present for each other and for life itself.
What's something your students might be surprised to learn about you? I like to skinny dip in icy cold mountain lakes.
